Dr. the Hon. Carlton E. Davis’ distinguished record includes serving as that Jamaica’s Cabinet Secretary for fifteen years, spanning the administrations of three Prime Ministers. As Chairman or member of several boards of public and private organizations he has received widespread praise for his integrity and astute management of complex situations, producing positive financial and social results. Notable among these is the service he has given as Chairman of the National Housing Trust and on the Board of the Bank of Jamaica where he chaired the Human Resource Committee.
As Chief Executive Officer of the Jamaica Bauxite Institute for more than 17 years he guided a process of unprecedented accomplishment in the development of public/private sector partnerships. He enjoys worldwide recognition as a foremost expert in the bauxite/alumina sector both as negotiator and at the technical level. In addition to having two published books, Dr. Davis has also made numerous presentations in fora in the Caribbean, the USA and Europe, and continues to serve as a member of the board of the International Centre for Environment and Nuclear Sciences (ICENS) University of the West Indies, Mona, Jamaica.
